Pyramid Tattoos: Meanings, Designs, and Ideas

Is a Pyramid Tattoo for You?

One interesting tattoo that you may want to consider is the pyramid tattoo. They are not considered to be a popular tattoo, but they would be a perfect fit for anyone looking for something unique. They can be worn by both men and women are designed in a variety of different ways. There are several different symbols that can be appropriately portrayed in their designs, and often hold deep value for those who wear them.

Pyramid Tattoo Meanings

The pyramid has been a symbol of great achievement by man for many years. The pyramid is an ancient Egyptian symbol that, in a sense, defines the great capabilities of the Egyptian civilization. The pyramid can be a symbol of unity and determination, two factors that attribute to their creation.

Many people believe that pyramids were used for a variety of reasons, but they were most commonly used to bury Egyptian Pharaohs. The Egyptians believed in a variety of gods in their culture and that the deceased could walk into the heavens from their pyramid. Technology has shown us that pyramids were placed and aligned perfectly for certain lunar events. In fact, the Egyptian's knowledge of the stars and the universe is simply remarkable. Their studies of the stars and the sun were genius for their time period (thousands of years ago). Today, it is still a mystery how they gained such knowledge of the solar system.

These tattoos often hold deep, positive symbolic value for those who wear them. But remember, in the end, your tattoo will represent what you want it too. With that, below you can find meanings often associated with pyramid tattoos:

  • Protection
  • Determination
  • Perseverance
  • Unity
  • Spirituality
  • Dedication
  • Longevity
  • Intelligence

Pyramid Tattoo Designs and Appearance

Pyramid tattoo designs can be designed in a few different ways. One of the most popular designs is the Eye of Horus—an ancient Egyptian symbol. Although this pyramid tattoo design is popular, most people actually have a regular eye designed instead of the actual Eye of Horus. Either way, this design represents spiritual sight and one's inner vision. This is also known as the "All Seeing Eye," and can remind us that God is always watching us, which gives it an association with our modern spirituality.

Designs portray both small and large pyramids. Small pyramid tattoos may or may not contain great detail, but the larger ones often do. In many cases, they are designed with stones and the eye is more of the centerpiece. However, some pyramid tattoo designs are designed with excellent detail, portraying steps, flags, or other Egyptian symbols.

Not only will this give you a general idea of what is available, but this can also give you tips and ideas for your own pyramid tattoo design.

Before You Get a Tattoo

There are some important things that you need to remember before you get your pyramid tattoo or any tattoo. Make sure that you take the time to research your tattoo. Make sure that you completely understand what your tattoo represents and stands for before you get tattooed.

Don't rush to get inked! Men and women that get inked on an impulse usually regret their tattoo later on down the road. Don't make this same mistake. Remember, you are going to wear this for the rest of your life. If you are not sure or you have second thoughts, wait it out. Make the right choice the first time around.

i do my tattoos myself, i make hand poke and only outlines mut i never take the time to think about them, an seek their meaning after its done, usually it shows me where i am in my life and most of them are placed together, their shape are to all the time going together but their meaning is. i believe every conscious descison made un in very short time is influenced by our subconscious who has access to a bigger part of our memory( witch we can access through hypnosis) and our subconscious is driving us towards want we really want or need, what do you think? also the meaning can depend of you culture, except for thing like the sun that represent the day and thing like that

I can't imagine having a pyramid tattoo covering so much area. I would opt for a butterfly, if I were to do one. However, as your wrote the smaller ones lack detail so I guess this is why the larger is best.

Hi Ricky,

I like what the pyramid tattoo represents. My favourite is the one with the sea horses. The ones with an eye look creepy to me. lol

Naw......really? The pyramid and the all seeing eye, someone is expressing the illuminati symbolism. Also, what God are you referring to, just out of curiosity?
