What Is the Playboy Bunny?
This is an iconic symbol that is well-known in the United States and all across the world. From jewelry and clothing to beautiful tattoo designs, the Playboy bunny is very well-represented. This symbol is becoming more and more popular as a tattoo choice for both sexes. In this article, you will learn what this design represents, and you will be able to get some ideas for your new ink project as well.
As a Tattoo for Women
When it comes to sexy symbols for women, this is a perfect choice. Yes, the Playboy bunny has been linked to sex since it was first created, but there is just something about the symbol that is inviting. If you're a woman looking for a sexy design, you can't go wrong with this one.
As a Tattoo for Men
The Playboy bunny is also worn by men, often choosing it as a reference to themselves as "playboys" or "players." In such designs, it is not uncommon to see "player" underneath the symbol. Men typically go with the traditional symbol of the Playboy bunny, which is solid black, while women usually prefer it in pink.
Where to Put a Playboy Bunny Tattoo
One advantage this design often has its size. It can come in a variety of different sizes, from large to small. Many tattoos either look better large or small, but the Playboy bunny design looks good whether you choose a full back or small hip design.
Since it can come in nearly any size, it can also be placed in a variety of different locations on the body, but since it's classically a symbol for sex, it is often placed on the hips or in the groin area.
- For women, it's usually small in size and located on the hips, groin, stomach, or on the lower back.
- For men, it's usually larger than those chosen by females and placed on their arms, shoulders, or back.
What Colors to Use
It's most often done in black, white, and pink. Although these are the primary colors that are used in such tattoos, you can also find it in purple, blue, red, and gray. Remember, it is your tattoo design, and you can choose any color that you wish. If you want an orange bunny, get it! If you like the traditional look, then you can use the color combinations of the original bunny.
Playboy Bunny Tattoo Meanings
The Playboy bunny can be used to represent a variety of different things. Although this is true, it is most often chosen for no particular meaning other than to represent what the Playboy bunny already stands for culturally.
In the table below, you can find the meanings of the Playboy bunny tattoo:
Background of the Bunny Design
The Playboy bunny has been associated with sex for decades. It is well known as a symbol of sex, pleasure, and fantasy. Although all of this is true, it is not always the case when we refer to the Playboy bunny tattoo. It a very cute and secretive design. Many women choose this symbol simply because they like it. The same thing can be said for most men as well. Although it does hold symbolic value, it is also chosen for the quality of the design.
Adding Words and Other Symbols to the Design
There are many things you can do with it. Many people choose to incorporate words and phrases into theirs, such as "player" or "seductive."
- For men, you may see Playboy bunnies with a hat on. They can also use money, dice, or cards in such designs. You can safely say that the Playboy bunny can take on roles of a pimp.
- Women tend to choose cute Playboy tattoos in a soft pink color. Women may choose to incorporate their name in the tattoo, or the name of their partner. Just as men, women also sometimes choose words and phrases associated with the iconic symbol to accompany it.

Who's the tattoo artist in all these pictures because they're horrible.. some of the worst tattooing ive ever seen in my life
AJ on November 07, 2018:
My tattoo 'artist' gave me a bunny on my groin back in the early 90s. But she messed it up, facing it the wrong way and coloring it in black when it was supposed to be just an outline. Over time, shaving faded the ink, so I went to have it recolored. I hated the black, but faded looked worse. That time, the artist took it upon himself to add magenta "accents" to it in the form of lines in front of the ears and around the face! Lines that don't even touch the tat! He said after that he "just thought I'd like it." I never asked him to do it and I was furious! My question is, can this black blob be fixed so it faces the CORRECT way? Or is it hopeless?

The symbolism of this tattoo is fairly obvious but holds a retro appeal. Voting this Up and Beautiful.
