Geek Tattoos

Technically, a "geek" is just one with an affinity towards a special niche or area, tending towards technology, gaming, and computers. Frequently, the terms "geek" and "nerd" are intertwined, so in that sense one who is intelligent and extremely bright.

You geek tattoos can range from mathematics, science, video games, movies, and various other nerdy symbols.

The more common geek tattoos include Pac-Man, Mario, DNA, molecular structures, computer parts, and maybe even a little HTML.

Above and below, you will find a small handful of examples of geek tattoos. Maybe these tattoo pictures will give you the perfect idea for your next tattoo.

Just remember that the cool thing about tattoos is that they're personal and your own. So, besides the critic here and there, no one can really critique your tattoo except for you.

The reasons behind any tattoo are yours and yours alone, so one person's idea of a bad or stupid tattoo, may be your idea of the perfect tattoo.

And, surprisingly or not, geek tattoos are very common among the masses of gamers, computer geeks, and science nerds.

Some of the popular video game tattoos include characters and symbols from the following games.

  • Mario
  • Pac-Man
  • Zelda
  • WOW (World of Warcraft)
  • Final Fantasy

Many gamers will go old school on a tattoo, getting old model Nintendo and Atari controllers and games tattooed on their body, whether it be as a part of a game tribute or just another tattoo.

Some famous movies that could be considered geeky to have as tattoos may include Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Star Trek, and Harry Potter, but all of these are common tattoos, to some degree.

Other common geek tattoos, as previously mentioned, include science models, atoms, molecules, and DNA, as well as mathematic equations and formulas.

You may look at a chemical compound tattooed on someone and wonder "Why?" But, that chemical compound may be that of a disorder or health concern that the person may suffer. Maybe that missing link on the DNA chain tells a story that is more simply put as a missing link.

In any sense, don't question the silliness or goofiness of a geek tattoo, but it may not be as absurd as you may think.

But, at the same time, what sense is there to have a tattoo of an old school planetary model? That I'll never know, but I'm sure out there, somewhere, there's at least one person who can explain the purpose that very tattoo.

Anyway, as for geek tattoos, don't question the genius when it comes to a little HTML or famous E=mc2 formulas.

One final note...
